Mujar Minette Shalo

Mujar Minette Shalo is an early career Cameroonian researcher interested in diagnostic research and development in low resource settings. She is currently in her second year of a PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge, UK supervised by Dr. Jenny Molloy and sponsored by the Cambridge Africa Changemaker Scholarship. She has an MSc. in Molecular Epidemiology and diagnostic science and a BSc. in Biochemistry. Prior to her PhD, she worked on local enzyme production and diagnostic development as a graduate researcher at Mboalab biotech, Cameroon and as a production manager for the Cameroon node of Beneficial bio, UK. Her goal is to develop and optimize systems for diagnostic research and development to alleviate the burden of diseases on developing populations through simple, inexpensive, and context-specific diagnostics.
